An HDR image of the interior of Shattuck-St.Mary's School. A private prep school in Fairbault, Minnesota that was founded in 1858. This was taken at the entry to the admin building.
With today's digital cameras, their tremendous capability and even more unbelievable post production software, it's easy to forget how technologically cuting edge the pioneers of color photography were.
Here is a link to a site featuring the amazing color photos of Sergey Prokoudin-Gorsky taken between 1910 and 1915. He was commissioned by the Tsar to take photos of the Russian Empire.
It would be well worth your time to view these haunting images from a soon to be destroyed forever world.
