It's always good to get home. Even when you've been someplace as mind-blowing as Katmai Nat. Park. Here's the main mode of transportation in & out. Canon S500

Like our 8-legged friend above, I too must toil incessantly and this week that toil takes me out of town. With luck, I'll be back here by Friday. I'm taking my digital and film cameras though. Wouldn't leave home without one or both.

As seen from Anchorage on any clear day, is Mt. McKinley on the right, Mt. Foraker on the left and I believe that the smaller mountain in the middle and closer to McKinley (or Denali. your choice) is Mt.Crosson.

The green is turning to gold. Between now and into October, Alaska will be at its most beautiful. There's a lot of talk about how New England is beautiful in the fall, but for my money, it can't touch Alaska in the autumn. We've had a very wet August. I only hope that it portends a sunny and beautiful September & October.

I had computer problems this morning and couldn't post. Evidently, things are better now. I suppose I really ought to upgrade my box. Anyway, here's a photo of my daughter from a walk a few evenings ago. She is a great walking, hiking and camping companion

A photo from downtown Anchorage. It's of the Conoco-Phillips building. The Atwood building's reflecting back with a reflection of the Conoco building in it. It kind of reminds me of a double bank shot. Canon S500.
